Children portal 2 six tips
This section is for children who are worried about high school.
First tip: Try to be excited and happy, other wise no-body will talk to you. Remember to be polite and be nice to everyone and glue a smile onto your face. (even if your not happy)
Second tip: Do not talk in the class room and try and get your work done. Otherwise you will get detention.
Third tip: Wear your uniform in the correct way and make sure you don't forget a piece of clothing at home, otherwise you might get detention too.
Forth tip: Make lots of friends. This will help you have fun at high school, and to study with.
Fifth tip: DO NOT to look down on people, because sometimes you will be looked down upon.
Sixth tip: Most inportantly have fun!!!

This section is for parents who are worried about there children starting Balwyn High School.
When your children start high schools, you can't help but be worried.
First tip: Is forget about it. Don't fill your mind with negative thoughts.
Second tip: Try to be supportive to your children if they are nervous about it.
Third tip: When they get home, ask them how their day was. If they are happy, keep on talking to them as if it is interesting. If they are angry or sad, tell them what they can do next time to avoid being angry.

Questions and Answers
To those children and parents who want to know more about Balwyn High School, we interviewed some people who work at Balwyn High School, and which go there as well.
Q 1. Is secondary school any different from primary school?
Yes, it is very different. By size, rules , what you where and by punishment. (Everybody).
Q 2. What extra subjects do secondary school have?
3D art, Geography, Science, Chemistry, Homeck, Design, Textiles, Languages, History, Health, Sport, Fiz ed, V.E.T. (Ben)
Q 3. Do you feel comfortable in year 7?
No at first, but then later on yes. When you get used to it, it just feels like as if you're still going to primary school. (Samann)
Q 4. Is it hard to cope with year 7 work?
Yes at first because they give you a whole lot of work to scare you. Then later on you get so little that 1 hour each night will finish everything, even all your projects. (Jenny)
Q 5. Will high school be very stressing?
It depends on which year you're in, and if you're in the bad or good list of the teachers. If you're in the bad list, you will have lots of work and detentions. Year 7 should be just like primary. (Sarah, Jenny)
Q 6. Is it hard to have no playground?
No, because I personally didn't use the playground in year 6. And I just chat with my friends at lunch. (Lisa) *not Lisa Zhu
Q 7. Are there lots of bullys in secondary school?
No for me. It depends on who you act and what you wear at school, but you will all ways have somebody who doesn't like you. (Samann)
Q 8. Is there their different uniform?
Yes, There is Winter and Summer uniform. The winter one is sometimes not warm enough so You should wear something underneath. (Jessica)
Q 9. Do you get detention easily?
Yes very easily, You even get it if you wear your uniform wrong. But If you're on the teachers good side then you won't. (Jenny)
Q 10. Are their any new sports in high school, If so what are they?
There's a hole lot more, eg. Tennis. (Sarah)
Q 11. Are there people who do pranks in high school?
Yes but only on muck up day, people write disgusting things in the bathroom & stick disgusting this on the wall. (Jane & Sabrina) * not Jane sun or Kwon
Q 12. Is the canteen cheap?
It depends on what the item is, Some of the stuff is really expensive and the rest is pretty cheap. (Ben)
